Sea freight from/to Thailand
Sea freight is the most economical and widely used means of transportation. It allows to send goods of a significant volume from one end of the world to the other.
- Less container load (LCL) : Your goods are grouped in a container, which they share with other shippers.
- Full container load (FCL) : Your goods travel in a container that is entirely reserved for you. The container will be sealed from departure to arrival.
Air freight from/to Thailand
Air freight is the fastest way to transport goods from point A to point B. Efficient especially over relatively long distances, air freight can deliver packages in just a few days to any location in the world. On the other hand, air freight is relatively polluting and expensive. There are two options available with air freight:
- Conventional Air Cargo: This type of cargo allows for the reservation of available space on commercial flights. The goods travel on board conventional airlines such as Air France, Qatar Airways or American Airlines.
- Express Air Freight: This type of freight is used for the transport of parcels with a relatively low weight, less than 100 kg. For this type of transport, it is recommended to use "Express" companies, such as DHL, FedEx, TNT or UPS.

International ports in Thailand
Bangkok Port / Klong Toey
The Port of Bangkok, also known as Klong Toey, is the largest port in Thailand. Each year, this port handles more than 1.5 million TEUs. Recognized as one of the 100 largest container ports in the world.
Built in 1938, the port operated by the Port Authority of Thailand is located on the Chao Phraya River, in the Khlong Toei area, within the Thai capital.
After a boom in the 1950s, the port of Bangkok underwent major work to expand its activity in the 1980s, to cope with the significant growth that the port was undergoing. At that time, it handled nearly 98% of Thailand's imports.
Since the construction of a second port near this one in 1991, the tonnage of the port of Bangkok has been seen to decline. The flow of imports has indeed decreased by nearly 40% after 1995.
The port still handles 54% of the country's imports and exports.
In addition, an expansion project is underway. This includes the construction of a new, wider and deeper quay to accommodate larger vessels. Twin railroads will also be built.
The Major Seaport of Laem Chabang
Built in 1991, the port of Laem Chabang is the first port of the country. Located 130 kilometers south of Bangkok, the Thai capital, the port is under the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT).
Since its establishment, this port has simulated the growth and industry of the country. Handling nearly 6.9 million TEUs per year and covering 1026 hectares, the port currently contains 4 terminals, which are managed by private companies.
Today, Laem Chabang Port is in the middle of a development phase. This phase consists of reaffirming the port's position as a gateway to the country, improving the port's competitiveness, boosting investment opportunities, and consolidating its trade hub in the country.
With this new infrastructure, such as a 2,000-meter long and 800-meter wide U-shaped structure, the handling of "Super-Post Panamax" ships with a capacity of about 10,000 TEU will be possible from this port.
Thus, it is estimated that the port of Laem Chabang will eventually be able to handle 8 million TEUs.
Major Seaport of Sriracha Harbour Deep
Established in 1989, Sriracha Port is the country's largest deepwater port and the first private international port. It was founded with the aim of consolidating Thailand's economic strength as a gateway to world trade.
The port handles a wide range of goods, from containers and special equipment to bulk cargo.
Located near the port of Laem Chabang, near Bangkok, this port is accessible 95% of the year.
